May is mental health awareness month! Being able to effectively manage stress, as an integral aspect of a healthy lifestyle, can enhance both mental and physical well-being. By equipping individuals with the knowledge and strategies to cope with stressors, we can build resiliency and care for ourselves. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthawarenessmonth #healthequity #stress Read more about the impact of stress from our intern in our blog post. Reproductive and sexual health care is under attack. Let’s make reproductive care and screening for cancers and STIs common and accessible to all. The Dobb’s Decision in 2022 has made an impact on several states, which is impacting the reproductive health of many, primarily those historically excluded from health care. Last year, our Executive Director from Health Outreach Partners wrote a blog article about the end of Roe v. Wade. Check it out in the link below. Since then, more states have restricted access to vital health services. Let's be an ally for those around us and advocate for equitable sexual health care for all. #STIAwarenessMonth #STIAwareness #healthequity https://lnkd.in/gDbEM3AG

Birthland serves its community by helping to transform the birthing landscape. They aim to create a space where the Oakland birth community can feel safe, respected and loved. “Working with a midwife in a home or homelike environment fosters community. Families become empowered participants in their health care and this inspires parental participation in pediatric care and childhood education. [Birthland] does this work because of the long-lasting impact on communities.” An innovative partnership at work in the Oakland community! Public health's future is about teaming up with others to end racism and advocate for community well-being. Let’s ensure everyone has access to the support and care they need for a healthier life. Health Outreach Partners has hosted several interns in the last four years to mentor their public health careers. We are proud of each intern’s accomplishments with HOP and what they have achieved since! We learn as much from them as they do from us. Check out their work at the link below. #internawarenessmonth #interns #internships #publichealth #healthequity April is Intern Awareness Month: https://lnkd.in/gum3kfQp
